Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan currently incarcerated, has submitted an application to become the Chancellor of Oxford University.
1. The PTI statement released on Sunday highlighted that, "Despite being unlawfully detained for more than a year, Khan remains steadfast in his principles and the causes he advocates." In an interview with the AFP news agency, Bukhari remarked, "Imran Khan has expressed his desire to submit his application, and the process of application review will now commence." He further noted, "While it is a ceremonial position, it carries significant prestige and importance. Given Imran Khan's prominence as one of the notable figures emerging from Oxford, it would be remarkable to see him assume the role of chancellor." Bukhari concluded by stating, "Should he be appointed chancellor, he would be the first individual of Asian descent to hold this position. This achievement would not only be significant for Pakistan but would also represent a notable milestone for all of Asia and the global community."
